About Golden State Coatings

Epoxy flooring is a coating system applied over concrete that bonds to the surface to create a seamless, durable, and easy-to-clean floor. It resists stains, cracking, and everyday wear far better than bare or painted concrete, and it comes in a range of finishes from flat solid colors to decorative flake, metallic, and quartz systems.
Yes. Golden State Coatings is fully licensed and insured for your complete peace of mind on every residential, commercial, or industrial project.
Yes. We're a small, family-owned and operated business, and we bring the same hands-on care to every job, from the first phone call to the final walkthrough.
Yes. We install epoxy flooring for garages, basements, and patios as well as warehouses, showrooms, restaurants, and other commercial and industrial spaces.
Process & Timeline

What to Expect From Start to Finish

We start with a free, no-obligation estimate, often bringing physical color and texture samples so you can see options in person. Once you approve a quote, we schedule your install, grind and prep the concrete, apply the coating system, and finish with a walkthrough covering care and curing.
It depends on the system. Our Standard system is typically a 2-day install, our Premium system runs about 3 days, and a full Metallic system usually takes about 5 days. Full cure time before heavy use is often close to a week, even after the visible work is done.
Just clear out anything stored on the floor, including vehicles, boxes, and appliances. We handle the grinding, crack repair, and cleaning as part of the job, and we've even helped customers move things like a washer and dryer when needed.
Yes. We walk you through each phase, from surface prep and crack filling to moisture barrier application and the final coat, and we're responsive by text, email, and phone throughout.
Light foot traffic is usually fine within a day or two, but full cure time, especially before parking vehicles, is typically around a week. We'll give you exact timing for your specific system during your walkthrough.
Systems & Packages

Choosing the Right Coating System

Our Standard package is a 2-day basecoat and flake system with a topcoat and no warranty. Premium, our most popular option, is a 3-day system that adds a moisture vapor barrier and comes with a 5-year warranty. Metallic is our most involved package, a 5-day system with a moisture vapor barrier, basecoat, design coat, topcoat, and an optional seal coat, also backed by a 5-year warranty.
An MVB is a layer applied to the concrete to block moisture from rising up through the slab and affecting your coating. It's recommended on our Premium package and included on Metallic, since moisture is one of the most common causes of coating failure over time.
We offer flake, metallic, solid color, quartz, sealed concrete, and epoxy mortar and cove systems, covering everything from a simple protective seal to a full showroom-quality decorative floor.
Epoxy mortar is a high-strength system used to repair damaged concrete and provide heavy-duty protection. It's most common in industrial settings that need to resist impacts, chemicals, and heavy machinery.
Epoxy cove is a seamless, curved transition installed at the junction of floors and walls. It prevents dirt and moisture buildup in that corner, which makes it common in healthcare facilities, food prep areas, and cleanrooms where hygiene matters most.
It comes down to budget, look, and how the space gets used. We'll walk your floor, talk through your goals, bring samples, and recommend the system that makes sense, without pushing you toward the most expensive option.
Pricing

Estimates, Cost & Value

Cost depends on square footage, concrete condition, and which package and finish you choose. Every project starts with a free, itemized estimate so you know the real number before committing to anything.
Yes, every estimate is free and no-obligation. We'll come out, help you pick the right system, and give you a clear, transparent quote.
For most homeowners, yes. Standard doesn't include a warranty or moisture vapor barrier, while Premium and Metallic add both, which protects your investment over the long run. We'll walk you through the trade-offs so you can decide what makes sense for your budget.
Pricing differences usually come down to materials and warranty coverage. We use US-made products and back our Premium and Metallic systems with a 5-year warranty, which factors into the quote alongside labor and prep work.
Warranty & Durability

Protecting Your Investment

Our Premium and Metallic systems come with a comprehensive 5-year warranty. Our Standard package is a budget-friendly option that does not include a warranty. We'll go over exactly what's covered during your estimate.
No. Our coating systems are built to handle hot tire pickup without lifting, bubbling, or marking over time.
Significantly more durable. Epoxy resists abrasion, staining, and cracking far better than bare or painted concrete, and customers who've had their floors done have reported them looking as good a year or more later with no chipping.
Reach out and we'll take a look. We stand behind our work and have gone back to patch and repair floors when accidental damage happened after the original install.
Maintenance & Care

Keeping Your Floor Looking New

Routine sweeping and occasional mopping with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner is usually all it takes. We'll walk you through specific care and curing precautions for your system at your final walkthrough.
Yes. Epoxy resists stains, scratches, and general wear, which is why it's a popular choice for garages, workshops, and commercial spaces that deal with oil, chemicals, and heavy traffic.
No special products are required. The seamless, non-porous surface is far easier to keep clean than bare concrete, tile, or grout.
Materials & Safety

What Goes Into Your Floor

Yes. We use eco-friendly, low-VOC materials that are safer for your family and pets both during installation and once the floor is fully cured.
Yes, we use US-made coating products, which is part of why our systems carry the warranties they do.
Fast-setting coatings cure more quickly between layers, which is part of how we keep our Standard and Premium systems to a 2 to 3 day install window instead of dragging a project out over a week or more.
